Give us lights at Sayreville skatepark

A number of years ago the Borough of Sayreville stopped turning lights on at the public skate park located in Kennedy Park. Along with this they also discontinued appointing someone to make sure everyone in the park was wearing a helmet. When they stopped this they made the park into a "skate at your own risk" skate park, which is a smart thing to do because the town does not have to worry about anybody taking legal action in regards to personal injury. One thing I do not understand is why they stopped turning the lights on at night at the skate park. The tennis courts which are visible from the skate park are still being lit up at dawn. Both sporting areas should have the same right to be lit up at night and I feel as a taxpayer and a citizen of this town that they should be. Also not lighting up the skate park at night is what creates all this new crime that has been going on there. While the park is not lit this gives vandals, drug dealers and even arsonists to have an opportunity to commit their crimes. Turning the lights back on will allow citizens, who work during the day, to have an equal opportunity to enjoy the skate park. So please as a good samaritan and frequent user of the skate park, please turn the lights back on. Even if it is only during the warm seasons and until 12am like the tennis courts, it is better than nothing. I hope you will consider what I have proposed and with these signatures I am obviously not the only person who cares about the matter at hand.
