Goodsell Street St Peters NSW Australia Parking Restriction Petition

This petition has been organised for the residents of Goodsell Street St Peters. Our local council have applied restricted parking on our quiet tree lined street for no real benefit. This petition's sole purpose is to obtain sufficient support from residents living on Goodsell St opposed to the parking restrictions placed upon us by Marrickville Council. Currently it costs residents > $100 per annum to purchase annual parking tickets for two cars. Parking is restricted during business hours during the week. A time when most residents are at their place of employ and parking on Goodsell St is not typically required. By way of example, during the month of November 2011 available parking spaces were surveyed each business day for a month. The average of available parking spaces on Goodsell Street, during this period, was 48 vacant spaces. Effectively meaning we, the residents, are paying to reserve parking spaces we don't actually need. This petition seeks to have Marrickville Council remove the restricted parking on Goodsell St, on or before the expiry of the current parking arrangements, June 30 2013.
