Guilty Until Proven Guilty?

Are we innocent until proven guilty? Are we really free? Not in New Jersey! Curfews have been enforced in New Jersey since the 1990's. Rules like these subtly take away our constitutional freedoms and punish the innocent. It's statistically proven that curfews do not reduce crime. Therefore, curfews are only enforced to punish innocent adolescents.

The police already have the ability to arrest juvenile criminals; the curfew adds nothing more than the obligation to arrest the innocent as well, said ACLU-NJ Staff Attorney David Rocah. The proper response to juvenile crime is to arrest the criminals, Rocah said, not to place thousands of law-abiding young people under house arrest.
