Alan Tongue is the un recognised workhorse of the National Rugby League (NRL)in Australia. This year (2006) Alan Tongue was named the Canberra Raiders Player of the Year. During the year Alan was snubbed for representative selection on numourous occasions, despite the fact that Alan Tongue was the leading try scorer amongst forwards in the entire NRL competition. In 2006 Alan Tongue also broke the record for most tackles in a season, an un-heralded achievement that will see him go down as one of the best defenders the competition has ever seen.
Alan Tongue is the complete footballer of the modern era, while we cannot change representative selector's opinions in regards to snubbing such a great player, we can hopefully give Alan some of the recognition he deserves.
This petition will be forwarded to Alan Tongues sponsor's in the hope of Procuring him a new automobile in light of his massive achievements, failing that some new hubcaps for his car will be a token from his sponsors and the public of a job well done.
