FIGHT FOR FARNBOROUGHS FUTURE!
The very existence of Farnborough Town Football Clubs future is threatened by the ability of the Administration Process to come to a successful completion even though there are bidders who want to take the club forward.
The Farnborough Supporters Trust (FaST) urges you to contact anybody that you feel that can bring influence to bear to sort out this sorry mess. So write to your local MP, Councillor, County Councillor, local media (press, TV and radio) etc. and forcefully state the case to save Farnborough Town. You could use the following or similar wording:-
HELP SAVE FARNBOROUGH TOWN FOOTBALL CLUB
Farnborough Town Football Club has had financial problems in recent years and is currently in Administration. The clubs future is severely threatened by its ability to emerge from the Administration Process; failure to emerge in the next few weeks will result in the club being wound up and lost forever. This will mean the following for the Farnborough community:-
The future of more than 20 Farnborough Town football teams for boys and girls will be put at risk along with the enjoyment of the 500 people that are regularly involved in playing for, running and supporting them
Support from the club for local charities will be lost, specifically:-
o Fundraising for the Phyllis Tuckwell Hospice
o Work with Parity for Disability to construct a day care centre at the Cherrywood Road ground
No senior football club in the area for the first time in nearly 30 years
Loss of the Football Stadia Improvement Fund/FaST funded redevelopment of a major portion of the Cherrywood Road ground
SO IF FARNBOROUGH TOWN IS WOUND UP THE TOWNS YOUTH, ITS LOCAL CHARITIES AND ITS ABILITY TO STAGE SENIOR FOOTBALL IN A REDEVELOPED STADIUM WILL BE LOST FOREVER!
We urge you to support the future of Farnborough Town and bring any influence that you can to bear to sort out the Administration problems.
If you want more information on this sorry situation, go to http://www.farnboroughtrust.org.uk or call FaST chairman Dave Workman on 0118 989 1295 or FaST board member Graham Ellicott on 07957 624477. Media enquiries to FaST press officer Paul Barry on 07941 565310.
