Holocaust in Cфte dIvoire

Frances former West African colonies have been suffering injustices for more than five decades now. These former colonies are subject to both Frances profit-oriented policies and the bad governance of their own leaders, which often act in the interests an name of France. This kind of political leadership and governance has led people to live in miserable conditions and suffer from hunger and abject poverty. Along with political conspiracy (such as military support to militant and political groups) initiated by the French government, this kind of political regime has caused at least:

- 200,000 deaths in Burundi (1972);
- 200,000 deaths in Congo-Brazzaville (1998);
- 212 000 displaced in Central African Republic (2005 - 2010);
- 400,000 deaths in Cameroon (1950 - 1963);
- 500,000 deaths in Angola;
- 1,000,000 deaths in Rwanda (1994);
- 1,000,000 deaths in Congo-DRC (1998 - 2010), the conflicts still making new victims every day.

With the recent Ivorian presidential elections that took place in November 2010, political fronts have been formed again to fight each other. The UN, the French troops and the French government that were brought into Cфte d'Ivoire to help secure the elections played a key role in worsening the tension by declaring their support to a candidate who, according to investigation conducted by the Ivorian Constitutional Council, won only 49\% of the popular vote compared to 51\% for the incumbent President. By opposing the decision of the Ivorian Constitutional Council, the UN and the French Government ignore the right to sovereignty of the Ivorian state, regardless of the devastating consequences.
Again, like in 2002, the real reason for the positions of the French Government and the UN are the coveted oil reserves in the Gulf of Guinea, a region that stretches from West to Central Africa and includes the countries of the Ivory Coast to Angola. The Gulf of Guinea has the world's largest deep-water oil reserves as well as considerable amounts of natural gas. In addition, there are significant deposits of other minerals such as gold, diamonds, manganese, iron ore, copper, tin, and coltan.

For the countries of this region, the responsible development and use of energy and mineral act to stimulate economic growth thus paving the way towards poverty alleviation. This explains the position of the incumbent President of Ivory Coast according to whom each country must have the sole right to market its own resources in its best interest.

As early as 2002, a rebellion instigated by the French government caused the death of many innocent Ivoirians. The rebel troops armed by the French government and assisted by the French troops executed thousands of innocent civilians. About 4,000 people - including women and children - were brutally murdered (see: http://www.rti.ci/cgi-bin/page.cgi?g=Detailed 2F4164.html\% d = 1) and a million Ivoirians were displaced.

This time the action is even more dramatic. On Thursday, 02/24/2011 on orders from the French government, the French banks operating in Ivory Coast which make over 70\% of the Ivorian banking sector closed without notice. Since then, neither companies nor citizens have access to their bank accounts. Consequence is that 15 MILLION HUMAN BEING are facing starvation because of such irresponsible and inexplicable action. Further, an embargo on medicines is implemented. It is clear that with such a despicable inhumane actions, both the French government and the UN want to force their own political agenda. France want to force a candidate in the lead and thus consolidate his dominance in this region

This irresponsible interference in the politics and decision making of African states, the violation of both human rights and the right to sovereignty of the African countries, since the "apparent independence" more than 50 years ago, has already cost countless of innocent lives, with no end in sight.

This petition is a cry for help. It is an urgent request for support to enlighten these crimes against humanity. Each new victim in Ivory Coast is one cost of human life too much. These grievances may no longer be hushed and covered up. Then Ivory Coast is currently on its best way to becoming the second Rwanda.

Help us to bring the true face of the conflicts in Ivory Coast to light. Only then can the decision-makers be forced to act and the impending humanitarian catastrophe can be prevented.
