Indoor Water Park at the Old Winnipeg Arena

My name is Ty Tran. I have been a Winnipeger for over 23 years and currently live in the Norwood area with my wife and two beautiful daughters. For quite some time now, I have been interested in promoting the idea of a theme/water park in our city.

My love affair with theme parks and all things extreme started at a very young age. I have many fond childhood memories of family trips taken to Disneyland, Six Flags, Magic Mountain and the West Edmonton Mall Water Park, to name only a few. A big kid at heart like many people, it seemed like I could never get enough of the theme park experience. Everyone should be so fortunate to have these fun experiences at least once in their lifetime.

Unfortunately, there are individuals in Winnipeg and the surrounding area who dont have the luxury to travel or get the chance to experience what I have. Wouldnt it be great to bring this experience right into our backyard? Think of it being able to go swimming when its -40 below outside and feeling like youre on vacation in paradise! Not to mention the positive impact it will have on our economy, such as job creation and tourism. A unique aquatic park will draw people from all over to Winnipeg, but I cant say the same about another retail location.

I strongly believe we have been waiting patiently for the City of Winnipeg to give the citizens what we deserve an indoor water park. Its time to stop procrastinating. I am determined to represent those who support the idea of the aquatic park at the old Winnipeg Arena site. So lets all rally together and let the city councilors know than an aquatic park is a viable and much needed venture in Winnipeg.

Hopefully, the Travel Channels Tracy Gallagher will feature Winnipeg in an upcoming episode showcasing the Top Ten Water Parks in the World hey, it doesnt hurt to dream big, you never know what can happen when you set your mind to it!
