Dear Island Def Jam,
We as Mariah fans feel that a cd single release in the USA is critical. If you release this cd single it will rocket It's Like That to the top spot. We understand that you have specific plans for this single and this album however we feel that a single release would be beneficial to its power on Billboard.
If you are worried about Mariah not selling, don't be. The last 2 commercial USA singles that Mariah released were Loverboy (2001) and Through The Rain (2002). Loverboy was the highest selling single of 2001. Through The Rain was the highest selling single of 2002. Through The Rain continued into 2003 as one of the biggest selling cd singles. It also carried over into 2004. The point is, Mariah sells., If you put more than a radio edit or just one remix on the single, people will buy it.
Mariahs last #1 single was in 2000. It was titled Thank God I Found You. As another fan said:
"Thank God I Found You was at #18 on Airplay. So it is similar to ILT, which was #17 on Airplay when the vinyl came out. Had they released the singles then, ILT would have rocketed to top-5 for sure...maybe even to #1, depending on this first week sale...TGIFY did it with 118,000 units, so it is easy to believe ILT would have outsold the former."
As you see, we know what we are talking about too. Please IDJ. Please consider releasing a commercial cd single in the USA. It WILL be worth it.
