JMS for Star Wars series

We have heard that there is a new Star Wars live-action television series being created (to air after the release of Episode 3: Revenge of the Sith). Lucasfilm's previous ventures into TV have been less then spectacular (The Ewok movies and Young Indiana Jones series come to mind). We feel that a truly gifted writer/producer should be involved to ensure that the series does not get cancelled and is able to appeal to the vast audience that appreciates Star Wars, as well as reaching new viewers that would not normally be interested in such a series. To that end, we believe that J. Michael Straczynski (creator of the groundbreaking sci-fi series, Babylon 5) would be the ideal choice to helm such a project. As well as being a highly talented writer, Mr. Straczynski also has ample previous experience as a television producer and was able to bring in B5 on or under budget several different occasions. Of course, Lucasfilm Ltd. is free to choose whomever they feel is best suited for the series, but we hope they will carefully consider Mr. Straczynksi for the development and subsequent production. Mr. Straczynski has also indicated a willingness to pursue such a project, if invited (he has stated such via the usenet system). Any project helmed by this writer is sure to be a success, both critically and commercially.
