On July 21, 2004, Zhao Yan, a Chinese businesswoman and an innocent tourist, was seriously beaten by a Customs and Border Protection officer near Niagara Falls, New York. The case has been submitted to the Fderal court of Western New York, Buffalo, New York.
PLEASE HELP TO BRING JUSTICE TO THIS CASE BY SIGNING THIS PETITION.
We appeal all oversea Chinese, and others who are concerned with human rights and social justice to support Zhaos legal action seeking justice and compensation to her enormous sufferings.
We call upon the U.S. Government, especially the Department of Homeland Security and the the Bureau of Immigration and Custom Enforcement in Buffalo, as employers of the accused border officier, to perform their responsibilities for the damage caused by his action, to pay full compensation to the victim, and to try all means to prevent such serious incident from reoccuring in the future.
