Torfaen are now decicing to only empty our black bins once a month because they say we are not recycling enough. The reason we are not recycling enough is because THEY won't accept many recyclable things so we have to put it in the rubbish.
Torfaen recycles 52% of our rubbish. The Welsh Government demands 58% and will impose £100,000 for every 1% under that target. How will fewer rubbish collections help hit this target?
IT WON'T! What it WILL do is create more rubbish being dumped, increase fly tipping, reduce hygiene and encourage vermin like rats and foxes.
