LeFlore County, Oklahoma Animal Abuse/Dog Fighting Prosecution

Petition to Have Mr. Matthew Campbell prosecuted for his abuse of animals:
Due to a large number of complaints from local residents, in August 2003, the local sheriff (Roy Gentry) and the D.A. (Rob Wallace) of LeFlore Co. went to Matthew Campbells property in Pocola, OK to investigate his abuse of animals. They found a make shift fighting ring, which contained five mutilated and still suffering dogs. A minpin with one leg ripped off (still alive), two boxers, torn up and mauled (still alive) and two mauled and mutilated great dane puppies (and yes these too were STILL ALIVE) The sheriff and DA saw 25 dogs which were scared and injured pit bull terriers the rest various purebred and mixed dogs. The dogs were chained to trees. No water, no food, no housing for the many of these dogs. Mr. Campbell reportedly told these men that he had always fought dogs and that he would continue to fight dogs till he died. He agreed at that time to surrender his dogs to animal rescue. The DA and Sheriff left leaving the poor dogs already mangled to die in the pit where they lay. Well now the DA has decided that he will not prosecute Mr. Campbell and now Mr. Campbell has no reason to relinquish the dogs. It is a felony in OK to fight dogs. And each case of animal cruelty carries a $750 fine with the possibility of a year in jail! Mr. Campbells admission is enough to get him arrested as well as dogs in horrific conditions chained to trees.
