It has been brought to my attention recently with the purchase of concert/event tickets that are live at Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre in Charlotte, N.C. While ordering tickets I noticed a new charge that was never on a ticket before, a parking fee of $6.00. I don't know if this goes up and down for various shows, but I know this amount was never on there before the LiveNation/Ticketmaster merger. What this complaint/petition is about is the fact that not everyone that buys a ticket drives to these shows. Some people that live close to Verizon Wireless will not drive but walk, they are still being charged $6.00 parking fee, younger people that attend, their parents drop them off, they are still being charged a $6.00 parking fee. This is not right and this should be stopped immediately. This doesn't affect me, but I know there are other numerous people this will and does affect. If they insist on charging everyone a parking fee they need to do this on site as you arrive in a car, not per ticket. As well as there should be a ceiling for the amount that can be charged if charging per person. There are so many fees associated with today's ticket prices, we don't need more added onto us, not to mention ticket prices have gone through the roof. If you look at it this way at 10,000 people and $6.00 per person, per ticket that would be $60,000.00 in parking fees they are collecting on top of a percentage of every ticket sold, and they are making the money for use of the theatre upfront, they saw this as well, and another avenue of ripping us off. Lets get this stopped before they find some other way of making us pay.
