Lift the ban on horse slaughter

On the topic of horse slaughter, theres a lot of people against it. Why? Yes horses are majestic and powerful animals, but at the same time those who are against horse slaughter arent against the slaughter of other livestock, yes the truth is out horses are livestock.

The following animals are slaughtered all over the world every day of every year:

1. Horses
2. Cows
3. Pigs
4. Sheep
5. Chickens
6. Goats
7. Rabbits

Not to mention in some countries household pets are also slaughtered for consumption!

You can slaughter animals #2 through #7 without a problem but how come #1 is such a problem? they are all slaughtered the same way.

And think about this - with the Equine Slaughter Ban in the United States the horses whom were only traveling up to a day maximum are now traveling 3-4 to be shipped to canada and mexico In a weak effort to stop the abuse we have made it worse. I am an avid horse lover, but I dont see it right to be against one thing but not others. Slightly hypocritical if you ask me.
