After paying into EI for my entire working life the government has denied my maternity benefits. I have been off work due to brain and neck injuries resulting from a car accident in which I was rear ended on the highway. I've never used any government benefits in my entire life, even while being unable to work due to my injuries. I find it very discouraging that after paying into these benefits for so many years (and NEVER relying on them) they are denying them to me. Especially, in a situation when I've been off work due to injuries/health problems caused by someone elses negligence. So much of our hard earned incomes goes into taxes, and I don't think it's right that we are then not approved for them when the time comes that we need them. I have one opportunity to dispute their decision and hoping this petition will help. Thank you!
