Name the E-ELT after Jan Oort

The European Southern Observatory (ESO) is planning to construct the 40-meter class European Extremely Large Telescope (E-ELT) on Cerro Armazones in northern Chile. Obvioussly, E-ELT is an unwieldy name for what is to become the largest telescope in the history of mankind. Since ESO was established 50 years ago on the initiative of the great Dutch astronomer Jan Oort, we strongly suggest to have the E-ELT named after Oort, honoring his crucial role in the birth of the world's most productive astronomical observatory.
