This petition is for Nottingham Trent students on the Business Studies Level 3 - Strategic Viewpoints in Accounting and Finance (SVAF) module to sign in support of action being taken regarding a lack of sufficent preperation from module leaders for the Strategic Viewpoints in Accounting examination on 23/5/08.
The preperation given to students was felt to be misleading with examination lectures and past paper questions highlighted as key areas of importance to learn, however the exam paper in question had very little, if any relevance to the majority of this information; introducing completely fresh topics, some of which had been barely covered in what was an extensive module. Hence the exam questions given were ones that students were completely underprepared for.
We feel that the module teaching team suffered failings in sufficiently covering those areas of the module needed to answer the questions contained in the exam paper, which resulted in students being unable to prepare for the exam questions effectively.
By signing this petition you are agreeing to the validity of the above statements and for action on the above issue to be taken forward by a group of representatives from the module.

I don't think it was clear enough which area's needed to be revised for the exam, or the format of the exam. I was expecting questions similar to that of the past papers provided and extensively revised areas such as EVA, Boston Matri

In agreement that the area's given strong direction of revision attention not covered in paper and lesser area's carrying high marks were included (eg. absence of BCG, EVA and the inclusion of Porter!!!)

we were led to believe that part A of the paper will consist of calculation questions and therefore i was shocked to see a BSC question in part A and EVA was no where to be found it was a total shock as i had prepared extnesively for
