For every person who signs this petition, one heart will be made in your name. Your heart will become part of the tree of hearts for Valentine's day. One heart, one voice adding to the chorus asking to an end to Old Growth logging in Tasmania.

The Upper Florentine valley, a rare and magnificent example of high conservation value forest, needs your support. It needs you to speak up, now...because without you, it will be gone forever. After two years of protection, a road is being pushed through the heart of the valley. Industrial scale logging of massive 80 metre trees and rainforest species will soon follow. The area will then be bombarded from above creating a high intensity burn, adding massive amounts of carbon dioxide to the atmosphere.

For what? 84\% of the extracted logs are sold as low-value woodchips.
For whom? Overwhelmingly for the benefit of one company, Gunns Limited, one of the world's largest hardwood woodchippers.

This is the 21st century.
And these are the forests that will feed the Tamar Valley Pulp Mill, if it is allowed to be built. We echo Tasmania's Premier, David Bartlett, calling for a change of heart in Tasmania: a place which is clever, kind and connected.

Together, we can save the Upper Florentine. Letting the forest stand as it has done since time immemorial represents the best of our nature.

Don't break our heart this Valentine's day.
