Petition for government to set pricing standards of the NZDA (New Zealand Dental Association) and support more dental coverage in health insurance.

Unregulated prices for dental health in an uncontrolled environment is hurting kiwi health. Average prices for consolations are roughly between $75 - $200+ depending on the work Actually getting dental work done is between $300 to thousands of dollars. Subsidies are non existent for low income earners and students 18+ making it dental care not possible for people who are in this bracket without financial support. All NZ private insurance companies have little or no dental coverage. Around $400 per year on dental work and with the prices that amounts to 2 or 3 fillings a year at most. There needs to be a system to make sure everyone has viable dental care available to them and in NZ this is far from reality.
