Everyone agrees that safety is one of the highest priorities on any film set. We all agree that showcasing the skills and talents of our local community in the best possible light is also of great importance in ensuring the future health of our local film industry. Having a Canadian stunt coordinator on set ensures that our local talent is showcased to its full
potential and that the cast and crew are kept safe in accordance with our local standards.
As members of UBCP/ACTRA, we welcome the many talented stunt coordinators that come from all over the world to work on BC productions. We strive to work in close partnership with non-local stunt coordinators, but feel that a local Canadian Stunt Coordinator is necessary to facilitate both the needs of the visiting coordinator in utilizing local talent, and
to ensure the safety of cast and crew in accordance with local standards and regulations. With these points in mind, we would ask that you sign this petition.
We, the undersigned, are members in good standing of UBCP/ACTRA. We support the initiative to amend Section A204 of the BCMPA to make it mandatory for a Canadian Stunt Coordinator to be present on all productions that require a Stunt Coordinator in the Province of British Columbia.
