Mr. Gary Bettman
Whereas the Vancouver Canucks have made it to the Stanley Cup Finals twice in the past 17 years
and
Whereas both of these occasions have resulted in rioting, injury, property damage, and general mayhem on the part of Vancouver fans and/or citizens.
and
Whereas there is no evidence to believe that this situation will change, modify, or otherwise improve.
Whereas the events in Vancouver in 1994 and again in 2011 reflect negatively on the city of Vancouver, Canada, the NHL, and the sport of hockey in general.
This petition proposes that an NHL Hockey team in Vancouver poses a very real hazard to persons, property, and the general public peace, as well as an undue taxpayer burden, in the form of damages, law enforcement and judicial salaries, medical facilities and infrastructure. As such it is the hope of the signers of this petition that the NHL commissioner, currently Mr Gary Bettman find a more suitable, desirable, and more appropriate (as in regards to the public peace and safety) for the team currently known as the Vancouver Canucks.
TL;DR: Please move the Canucks somewhere people don't act like savages when they lose a hockey game, destroying property, assaulting citizens and law enforcement officials, wasting taxpayer dollars, and making everybody involved in the sport look bad.
