Protect the Newcastle West Green Belt

Newcastle City Council has submitted proposals to allow the building of up to 6500 new houses on Green Belt land located to the west of Newcastle upon Tyne, adjacent to Westerhope, Chapel Park, Woolsington and Abbey Grange.
We, the undersigned totally reject the NewcastleGateshead One Core Strategy Plan as it will:
(1) Lead to the loss of our valuable green belt,
(2) Cause urban sprawl with a loss of village identity,
(3) Cause an increase in the number of cars and create traffic congestion.
We urge Newcastle City Council to abolish the present proposals including the Callerton Park Strategic Growth Zone and to reconsider the above plan.
