OAS is in danger due to under-funding by Public Funds while there is ample money set aside from Public Funds to cover the early retirement of MPs, Senators, and Government Workers..
The Government has a separate pool of Public Funds set aside
to allow early retirement for MPs, Senators, and Government Workers.
They can retire as early as age 50 while the people who own the Public Funds, we tax payers, are forced to wait to a much later age or we will suffer a dramatic penalty
in the form of reduced benefits if we collect before age 65.
Comparatively, the above three groups who receive pay from the public may get a pension from Public Funds of $50,000 or $100,000 yearly, as examples. Tax payers may get perhaps around $1,200 per month from their own Public Funds. Now there is talk of making the tax payers wait until age 67 to collect their pensions but there is no talk of making MPs, Senators, or Government Workers also wait until their 67th birthday to collect.
We must call for a referendum to decide if we, the tax payers of Canada, will pay for the early retirement of MPs, Senators, and Government Workers. We must call for an equitable split of Public Funds to provide for the retirement of all Canadians. We must call for an end to Public Funds being used to provide early retirement for MPs, Senators, and Government Workers.
