Q74 Bus

The MTA's plan to eliminate the Q-74 will impose serious hardship on numerous residents, students and workers who use the bus every day. Alternate routes will result in paying a second fare or in burdensome transfers. All other routes may inflict risks, such as crossing dark parks, on these commuters way to and from Q74 destinations.
In addition, loss of the Q-74 will negatively affect world-class institutions like Townsend Harris High School, Queens College, the Rabbinical Seminary of America and others located in Kew Gardens Hills.
The Q-74 is the essential link between the subway and Kew Gardens Hills. It serves local residents, patrons of the Colden and Kupferberg cultural centers; students, faculty and staff of Queens College; residents of Pomonok Houses; Georgetown Mews; Mainstay Co-op; several apartment complexes; students, faculty and staff of Townsend Harris High School; several yeshivas; numerous houses of worship; three public elementary schools; the North Queens Community High School; three senior centers; and the Kew Gardens Hills Library. Eliminating the Q-74 will provide only minuscule savings for the MTA. We urge you to withdraw the plan to eliminate the Q-74.
