Sean Micheal Taylor, 24, a member of the Washington Redskins of the National Football League, was shot in front of his high school sweetheart, and thier 17 month old daughter in his home. He succumed to his injuries on the morning of November 27, 2007. Sean, who made his first Pro-Bowl in 2006, and at the time of his passing led the NFC in interceptions, was a stellar player on the field for both the Redskins and the University of Miami, and was one of the highest drafted players in history at his position. He was respected and loved by all who knew him, and will be sorely missed by friends and fans alike. He was the best player the Redskins franchise has had the pleasure of watching in nearly 20 years, and in light of his accomplishments, I wish to submit to Dan Snyder, owner of the Washington Redskins, this petition to retire his number, the #21, and to add his name to the "Ring of Fame", located inside of Fed-Ex Field, which is the home stadium for the Redskins. It would be a fitting tribute to a player who was destined to become a perrenial Pro-Bowler and was potentially a future Hall of Famer.
