PETITION FOR THE RIGHTS OF PERSONS INCARCERATED IN FLORIDA ..
Inhumane conditions at the prisons. e.g. ~ No air in prisoners quarters when temperatures are dangerously high.
Compare to Federal Prisons...
Length of sentences for non-violent offenders, 85\% is unreasonable and takes away hope of rehabilitation.
Compare to Federal Prisons...
Absence of programs that are listed on your internet sites yet that are not available to prepare non-violent offenders for a constructive life after prison.
e.g. ~ Employers can use background checks to deny former inmates jobs, how are they to suppose to live?

Ineffective assist of counsel This happens to almost every person(s) who have a record. The attorneys have a set fee for the charges and if the charges are dropped they do not get their set fee and the corruption starts hereAlso the plea bargains.
Inmates are constantly humiliated and pushed to the breaking point so they can be put in solitary confinement.
The state of Florida uses the prison system as a front as the officials all receive kickbacks from the tobacco sold to the inmates ~ No state stamp on the packs and also the inmates are given nothing to occupy their time. I donated games and guitars and they have yet to see them! They are given toys and crayons.
We need to helpPlease by signing this petition maybe we can.
Since the inmates are not allowed to vote, it is up to all of us to vote for change. We will research the voting record of every elected official in Florida and other states that allow this to be tolerated. We can also do "Background Checks" that could take away these officials right to privacy and perhaps their jobs. Many of these prisoners were Victims of poor representation by Attorney's. e.g. ~ My Son paid his attorney $24000.00 and was not even given a fair hearing!!!!!!

I take better care of my dog than most prisons take care of the inmates. It's a total disgrace, the things that are allowed to happen are inhumane. But hey---one day maybe it will be YOUR child in prison, then YOU will want changes too.

Although my daughter has AC in her Broward dorm, I am very concerned about all of the inmates who do not have it. Cold water is also a frequent prison problem in the Florida heat.. Have mercy on all.

Inmates are underfed, no rehab, intimidated, no air and not enough clothes in cold weather.

We need to make sure we make no more victims be they those we put in our prisons for sentences that are so far out of scope as to make sure they get out after those that put them there are dead or that they die in prison, or that they are so institutional

This state is in need of HELP. Prisoners are being killed by officers and nothing is ever done to stop it. Inmates are set-up all the time for things they have not done. This state has the worst department of corrections that most of us have ever seen.
