This petition purposes that South Carolina leaders and legislators take action to increase funding to improve education in South Carolina's rural communities. Currently, education in rural areas of South Carolina, such as those in the well-known Corridor of Shame, has suffered and been deemed as minimally adequate.
Increasing funding for those areas will boost the economy, decrease unemployment, and improve the overall quality of life for a population of people that have been neglected by our government.
