Clifton Elementary School is a multi-cultural technological school that provides students with a total education in the areas of academic, social and emotional learning from Pre-Kindergarten through grade 5. Clifton houses a Technology Magnet Program in grades 3 through 5.

The mission of Clifton Elementary School is to provide a safe, nurturing environment that is student-centered and focused toward creative learning, technological awareness and parental involvement to meet the diverse backgrounds and cultures of our students. We believe that each student brings to the school a variety of experiences and learning styles. Therefore, we are committed to preparing students to be active, lifelong learners and productive, effective citizens.

Clifton Elementary School offers students a variety of extra curricular activities that include clubs and organizations to meet their social, creative, and academic interests. They include:

4 H Club, Black History Club, Cheerleading Squad, Clifton Chorus, Clifton Safety Patrol, COOL Girls, Drama Club, Echo Club, Fire Marshals, French Club, Geography Club, Helen Ruffin Reading Bowl Club, Jr. Beta Club, Library Media Assistants, Math Club, Morning Broadcast Club, Newspaper, Science Club, Step Team, Student Council, Technology Club, Young Gents and Mentoring Program.
Our Awards and Accomplishments Include:
Helen Ruffin Reading Bowl 1st place in the District and 3rd in the Regional 2009, Cheerleading 1st place in the Virginia Regional Cheerleading Competition 2009, ArtsNow Grant 2007 & 2009, Clifton Going Green 2008-2009, Creating Pride Corporate Arts Program and Grant 2008, Foundation for Children with Cancer Hats On Day Participant 2008, Health Powers Grant-2007, 2008 and 2009, Clifton Food Service Department-Exemplary School Food and Nutrition Practices 2008=2009, Honorable Mention for Campus Beautification in Fall 2005, Honorable Mention for Campus Beautification in Fall 2006, Junior League Grant 2008, Picturing America Grant 2008, DeKalb County Council of PTAs The Membership Challenge Award 2008, Target/FirstBook Grant 2008, Title I Distinguished School 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008 and 2009, Art Access Grant High Museum 2006, 2007 and 2008, ACE Grant Alliance Theater 2006-2008, Lowes Toolbox for Education Grant 2010.

Clifton Elementary is leading the way in Green Learning. We practice recycling and we built an outdoor classroom on March 13th, 2010 with the help of a $5,000 grant from Lowes.
