We, the undersigned, are horrified at the extremist modernist ideas of Dr Usama Hasan. He supports Darwin's theory of evolution, and claims that Adam (alayhi as-salam) was the son of two apes.
The renowned scholar Sheikh Salih al-Sadlan, who recently visited Masjid Tawhid, said that such an individual is misguided and that he should not be allowed to give khutbahs nor should he be prayed behind.
Based upon this, we demand that the Committee of Masjid Tawhid remove Dr Usama Hasan from his position of Imam, and do not allow him to lead the prayer or deliver Khutbahs in the Masjid.
Only by doing so can we preserve the Sunni Orthodoxy of the Masjid, otherwise the Masjid will become a hotbed of Modernist Extremism.
