Save the Habitat

This is a plea to all the responsible residents of the National Capital Territory (NCT) of New Delhi, to come forward and stand up for a united cause in order to PRESERVE THE HABITAT and DIMINISHING GREEN COVER in the capital city.

We would like to make you aware of the fact that our countrys capital is one of the Greenest Capitals in the world yet it is continuously losing the green cover due to INFRASTRUCTURAL DEVELOPMENT like High Capacity Bus System (HCBS), Construction of Flyovers, Delhi Metro, Making Space for Bungalows for Bureaucrats (e.g.: parts of RK Puram Green Area DESTROYED), etc.
Also we are losing our precious river Yamuna because of upcoming Commonwealth Games village on its river bed and due to many other factors as well.
We, the people, have to adopt various efforts to Stop using PLASTIC BAGS as they possess some serious threat to the environment because they are Non-biodegradable and CANT be Recycled. We have to Ban the Use of Incandescent Bulbs and start using CFLs for a better environment. Also we urge the Govt. of NCT of New Delhi to CONDUCT more Seminars, Workshops and Exhibitions on environmental issues so that more and more people get to know about latest developments so that they can adapt to Environment-friendly resources.

As the residents of capital of India, we have to set an example for others on how to keep the city CLEAN and GREEN but we are far from that point as it is neither that Clean nor that Green.

It is imperative that we, the undersigned, as the concerned citizens of NCT of New Delhi should act wise and act fast otherwise our once picturesque city will be rendered a wasteland.
