This petition is concerning not only Breed Specific Legislation in the state of California, but the fact that it could spread to the other states as well.
It is allowing Animal Control to label which breeds of dogs are considered vicious and demand that all of the animals of that breed be spayed or neutered or even terminated without just cause.
It was cruel to pass this bill. It is not the dogs that need to be punished, it is the owners. Dogs, especially Pitbulls, do not become mean unless they are taught to be that way or they are treated badly. So why punish the breeds of dogs for what the owners are doing?
Animals should not be punished for what their owners do. Nor should they be punished before they even commit such an act that it's determined that they must be terminated. Please, punish the deed not the breed.
