Say yes to Equality in India

Dear Mr. President,











We hope you understand the demoralizing effect our caste system had on the under priviledged people for more than three thousand years. We hope you also understand that science clearly prove the necessity for giving them an helping hand so that they catch up with the priviledged sections of the society. We hope you understand that the playing field is not leveled for the under priviledged sections of the society. We hope you understand that the current reservation system is badly implemented and it is not enough to level the playing field for the under priviledged sections. We hope you also understand that the institutions of higher education like IITs and IIMs are benefiting only the priviledged sections of the society. Being an academic yourself, you would have come across the statistics about the distribution of different sections of the society in those institutions. It is quite easy to see that the big chunk of students who benefit from these institutions are from priviledged sections of the society. We hope you know that govt. spends several lakh rupees on each student who completes the degree from these institutions. We hope you understand that it is the tax payers money that is being used to educate students at IITs and IIMs. We hope you understand that the benefits of the taxpayer's money spent on these institutions only help the priviledged sections of the society and it doesn't reach all sections of the society equally. We hope you understand that this only helps to keep up the inequality present in our society. In short, we hope you understand that the inequality in our society is very high in the centers of higher education. To offset this inequality and bring the playing field leveled for all sections of the society, we request you to ask the union govt. to











a) Implement the existing quota system in a fool proof way.





b) Bring in a reservation system in centers of higher education like IITs and IIMs so that the output from these institutes represents the distribution of our society.





c) Bring in an incentive laden reservation system in our private sector so that the distribution of employees in these companies represent the diversity of the Indian society.











In a nutshell, "SAY YES TO EQUALITY".
