The Secure IT Foundation petitions computer manufacturers and new computer vendors to supply a secure computer 'out of the box'.
A hardened operating system with secure settings applied to all applications. One that forces the user to create a non administrative account in addition to an administrative account. All time limited trial versions of software should be replaced by full paid versions or free / open source versions, so that the user's security is not compromised after trial has expired.
Such a simple request, and it is no secret on how to achieve this. We have have even published a free Secure Computer Standard on our website (www.secureitfoundation.org). So join with us and our call for secure computers 'out the box' from the manufacturers and anyone who sells new computers.
