As a member of the Loyola University Chicago student body, I protest honoring Ann Coulter with the privilege of speaking at our University. As a member of an academic community I acknowledge that there are things we can learn from those who have opinions that differ from us, but there is nothing to learn from a racist, sexist, bigot except for hate. Regardless of our race, religion, political affiliation, or socio-economic status we do not wish to use our student activity dollars to give Ann Coulter the honor of speaking at our University. She intentionally publicly makes statements that marginalize, attack, and hate, individual members of our community, including Women, Muslims, Middle Easterners, and several other individual identities. It is therefore extremely imprudent and disrespectful to the Loyola University Chicago community, to welcome and pay Ann Coulter to come to our University.
We the undersigned,
