Gay bashing and hate crime have been on a rampage in the society, terrorizing and ending lives of many promising young gay men around the world - Matthew Shepherd and the recent demise of Michael Sandy, just to name the more eminent cases. Not only have we been discriminated, we have also been unduly pronounced as "social invalids" by most frustratingly certain religious groups. God creates us to preach and share love and not to exterminate because of his or her sexual orientation. With this petition, I hope to create the awareness that being gay is not detestable. We have every right to live and be accepted into the larger society; similarly, we have the right to enjoy social and employment security and stability as do the others. Being gay is not just a lifestyle, neither is it a fad - it is about who a person really is and how he or she has been created. No one, ever, has the right to judge except God. And what God has endowed man with is unconditional acceptance.
Its time for us, the gay people, to band together as a single party and spread the word. We demand sexual equality regardless of our social status and cultural background. And we petition to embrace love, equality and social justice without respite.
So, take a step forward and be part of the campaign.
