For many years, Barry Sanders was the man you saw painted on the side of the Cadillac building in Detroit. Barry Sanders was a running back for the Detroit Lions, but has long been gone from the team. Now comes the time when the mural must change. The Detroit Red Wings are 3 time Stanley Cup Champions in the last 6 years, 10 cups total since their inception. One reason they have had so much success in the last few seasons is because of one man. Steve Yzerman. Longest running captain of the Detroit Red Wings and a pillar to the community. As of now, a company has opted to go with a painting of the Stanley Cup on the side of the building rather than pay tribute to a man that has given his heart and soul and even his health to achieve greatness. Fans of the Detroit Red Wings and citizens of Detroit would like the mural plans put on hold and would like to see a mural of Stevie up instead. Results from this petition will be sent to every local news and radio station in the Detroit Area in hopes that Mr. Yzerman will become immortalized with a 150ft tall Mural.
