To the Federal Attorney General
We demand that the DDA be strengthened to prevent further discriminatory practices by public transport providers, namely Jetstar Airlines in the recent Federal Court finding (13/1/12) in favour of Jetstar vs Sheila King.
People with disabilities in Australia for too long now have been at the mercy of businesses and corporations in their goals of money making. People with disabilities are the victims of their discriminatory practices, and we believe this must stop.
In a country such as Australia, we pride ourselves on having a go, of making our way in the world, and of being independent. People with disabilities are no different and desire to be included in all facets of community. This cannot be done successfully whilst discrimination continues to occur according to the policies of Jetstar and other transport providers in Australia.
We demand that this issue be rectified, by strengthening the DDA.
