Stop the Driver's License

To the Members of the Wisconsin Senate:







We, the undersigned, are concerned with the anti-immigrant sentiment that is affecting congressional debate on immigration legislation.







We believe that immigrants documented and undocumented form a critical part of our community. Our laws should reflect and recognize these contributions, and work to protect those who often take the least paid, most dangerous and most exploitative jobs in our economy.







Therefore, we ask that you:







Block, modify or rethink the new identification and driver's license legislation in order to avoid that two hundred thousand community members loose their ID or Driver's License.







Block any measure that criminalizes undocumented immigrants.







Block any measure that criminalizes those who provide crucial humanitarian aid to undocumented immigrants, be it food and shelter, health care, or legal assistance.







Block any measure that would allow local law enforcement officers to enforce immigration laws.







Pass legislation that protects the human rights and well-being of all immigrant workers.







We are voters, and we care deeply about this issue. We hope that you share our beliefs, and can assure you that if you do, your support will not go unrecognized.
