Stop The Postal Rate Increase

Since the last increase in postage rates, we've seen no improvements in service. Just the same complacent stare from unfriendly postal workers and the same unreliable service. Admittedly, the USPS is seeing less volume, which would make one believe that the service for the rest of the mail would improve. It has not.
Every time the USPS has requested rate increases, they have been granted (minus two occassions in the last 3 decades). Its time for that to change. This time, the USPS should be denied the increase they seek, which is claimed to be needed to fund pensions. Instead, they should improve service, cut unnecessary spending and prove that they are capable of meeting the needs of today's postal customer before they are allowed to present their next rate proposal.
What might work out even better is to get the United States Congress involved in improving American postal service. As an independent establishment of the Executive Branch of the United States Government, the USPS should be better funded from the inside. Perhaps what should be proposed is a spending bill to further modernize, fund, and improve the quality of service being provided, while freezing the current rates in place for an additional three years.
We are asking that the Postal Rate increase that is being considered be immediately denied until the USPS quality of service has improved. We feel the USPS does not DESERVE another postal increase, and at the same time want the United States Congress to realize that something needs to be done to fund and improve service at the USPS.
