To whom it may concern,
The tax paying, law-abiding Irish public are sick to the teeth of paying extortionate prices for concerts and sporting events and we will not stand for it anymore. Touting is a violation of the genuine fans basic human rights and the time has come for something to be done. The majority of concert and match tickets in Ireland today are going straight to greedy touts and radical changes are needed RIGHT NOW. This totally unethical practice has worsened exponentially over the past 18 months, and numerous parties are facilitating this national outrage.
People like www.needaticket.net in Dublin are lawfully(!) selling tickets for outrageous prices online (e.g. All Irland hurling/football final ticket 600 on needaticket.net back in Aug06, face value = 60. Arcade fire gig ticket 180 on needaticket.net, face value = 40!!). Why is this being allowed?
Do your part and ensure each of the following objectives are met:
Priority1) GOVERNMENT - ILLEGALIZE TICKET TOUTING OFF ALL SORTS
Priority2) TICKETMASTER - LIMIT OF 2 TICKETS AVAILABLE AT A TIME, TICKETLESS SCHEMES WITH REFERENCE NUMBERS + ID'S AT ENTRY TO GIG/MATCH
Priority3) EBAY AND BUY&SELL - UPDATE YOUR POLICIES TO STOP ONLINE TOUTING
Priority4) GAA, FAI, IRFU, MCD, AIKEN ENSURE TOUTING IS ELIMINATED FROM ALL FUTURE EVENTS
We demand that Ireland finally steps into the 21st century and that a stop is put to these acts of injustice once and for all.
