To: The Bibb County, GA School District & School Board Members
We, the undersigned, fully believe that the Dream Academy of Liberal Arts & Technology (DALAT) Charter School will be a great benefit to the children and families of the Bibb County Public School District. It will directly address the plight of our communitys youth while expanding the academic and social opportunities available to them. DALAT will provide students in grades K-8 an academically rigorous English/Language Arts, Mathematics, Science, and Social Studies core curricula supplemented with a technology-intensive program in a safe and caring learning environment. In addition, DALAT will offer Spanish and various Liberal Arts opportunities at all grade levels.
Small group mentoring, a focus on developing leadership skills, a structured environment, and a consistent culture of high expectations will assist DALAT in addressing the needs of students, their families, and their communities by building on the strength of students' cultural heritage and life experiences to enable them to become successful, lifelong learners, and valuable members of the global community.
We, the undersigned, fully respect and request that the Bibb County School Board approve the Dream Academy of Liberal Arts & Technology Charter Schools application to operate in Macon beginning in the fall of 2011.
