On October 13, 1987 three men went out drinking and became engaged in the use of drugs. Sometime while out the men stopped at a local convenience store. The clerk was shot and robbed. As our hearts go out the victim and his family, there are added victims who are forgotten and rebuked by the legal system. Two of the men ran to the police station, while the third barely made it home in a black out state of mind from the nights activities. It was he who was fingered by the two who ran to the police station, therefore he was the one charged and convicted for the crime. All three men had prior felony convictions. The man imprisoned had a prior drug charge and to all whom have known him no history of violence. The movements regarding the death penalty have opened up new doors for us. We are asking you to sign this petition to save the life of Jimmy Fletcher Meders, currently on death row since April of 1989.
At the time of his arrest, many more victims were created. Including his barely one year old and his daughter was two months shy of making her appearance into this world. Now at the ages of seventeen and fifteen, they are still in need of thier father. Mr. Meders has many other family members who have carried the pain of thier loss and still anguish the waiting and uncertainty by this unfair conviction. Please sign this petition and show your support to him and his family. As well as showing the State of Georgia, you disagree with the unfairness of his death sentance, while two other men walk freely.
