We petition the Minister, Joan Burton to allow the Department of social protection to pay qualified recipients the full sum of the fuel allowance at the beginning of the winter fuel season to facilitate recipients to buy oil for central heating at a a discount or to bulk buy coal or other heating supplies.
To avoid fraud, that the allowance could be in voucher form or paid directly to the fuel or power suppliers.
