U.S. Route 422

We, the commuters of U.S. Route 422, petition the U.S. Department of Transportation to assist in: 1) reviving the project to extend the R6 Norristown line operated by the SouthEastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority; or 2) ensuring U.S. Route 422 between Reading and King of Prussia progresses back into a fast, safe, efficient, accessible and convenient expressway, in keeping with the department's mission.

After joining the segments of U.S. 442 between Pottstown and King of Prussia in the 1980s, the roadway provided suburban sprawl and the economic revival of many towns. So vital is this roadway it has reached its capacity in the last decade. With each passing year, U.S. 422 has proven to become exponentially more congested and dangerous. Inevitably, as fuel efficient vehicles make it more viable to travel between Reading and Philadelphia, U.S. 422 will rapidly be pushed to its brink.
