We are not slaves!

Currently here in BC our labor laws are designed to allow companies to make employees due mass overtime without the employees consent and only give someone 8 hrs .free from work in a day and this does not include travel time to and from work . Section 39 of the employment standards act says that we can not be made to work exsesive hours that may be detrimental to a persons health . This means a normal healthy person can be made to work pretty much any hours the employer wants . This is equal to slavory . We are human beings living in a free and democratic society and should not be treated like this . From a legal stand point companies say well your availability says full time which may be true however full time refers to 40 hrs a week not 60+ hrs. and no days off . I ask that everyone stand united for change to BC labor laws and let our political figures know where we stand . We need to further define exsesive hours as no more then 50 hrs in a week in all industries as well as making a clause in employment laws that no one can be made to do overtime by the employer unless the employee agrees verbal or in writing.
