Wrongful Conviction of William Jonathan Mayo

We the undersigned have read and believe that William Jonathan Mayo was wrongfully convicted in the Superior Court of Cobb County on April 3, 1992.

We call on all Media Sources, Investigators, Civil rights leaders, Judicial officials, and all who stand for and believe in justice in this great United States of America -- to support this case and to those who have the resources to launch an immediate and thorough investigation into this case further revealing why this case deserves an immediate retrial.

We the undersigned have read and believe that
Police and Prosecutor Misconduct were major factors in the wrongful conviction of William Jonathan Mayo.
Police altered the number of accomplices written on the initial police report from 2 to 3
Coerced victims to believe that more that two persons were involved
Police Evidence Technician gave no report of his forensic findings (fingerprints)
Police lead investigator did not testify at trial
Police illegally showed the victims Williams drivers license on the night of the arrest (and he was still not identified by the victims)
Prosecutor allowed two of its key witnesses to testify under alias names
Prosecutor did not reveal the criminal histories of his key witnesses
Prosecutor withheld exculpatory evidence that his key witnesses spoke to him with regard to getting help on their pending criminal charges you help me, Ill help you.

We the undersigned have read and believe that
William Mayo was not tried before a jury of his peers.
Eleven whites and only 1 black in Cobb County, Georgia

We the undersigned have read and believe that
William Mayo received ineffective counsel from his court appointed attorney.
Filed no pre-trial suppression motions
Conducted no pre-trial investigations
Made no objections to the states case
Did not subpoena anyone to court on Williams behalf (William did it himself)
Allowed in court identification of William by the victim although they could not identify him on the night of the crime when directly shown his picture (5 months earlier)

We the undersigned have read and believe that
William Jonathan Mayo did not receive a fair trial! We believe that his sentence of Two Life Sentences and Forty Years was extremely cruel and unusual punishment for someone who had never been arrested nor any kind of prior convictions and where no serious injuries occurred to the victims. We are appalled, that in our great land, such miscarriages of justice are still allowed to stand.

We the undersigned have read and believe. We support the fight for a new trial, exoneration and immediate release of William Jonathan Mayo from the Georgia State Prison System. We Support William Jonathan Mayo and believe in his innocence!!
