Wyckoff Height Hospital - Noise and Air Pollution

To: Wyckoff Heights Medical Center (374 Stockholm St. Brooklyn, NY 11237)

We, the undersigned, petition Wyckoff Heights Medical Center to immediately address and resolve the presence of diesel powered external air conditioning units (the "Unit") on Stockholm St. to the satisfaction of local residents and in accordance with standards set forth by the Department of Environmental Protection, of which it currently violates.

Because of the significant health risks posed by 24 hour diesel exhaust emissions and erosion of quality of life from excessive noise, we demand that Wyckoff Hospital take the following clear, defined and prompt actions:

1.) Removal of the Unit from Stockholm St. or any public street or location.

2.) If the Unit is not completely removed from the neighborhood, then relocation of the Unit to a private location meeting the standards of local residents and the DEP. This may involve the hospital's rear parking lot, the construction of sound-proofing and adequate air filters. Further, the acknowledgement from Wyckoff Heights Medical Center that alternatives to the current situation exist and will be pursued.

3.) Presentation to local residents and authorities a timeline for permanent removal of the offending system or any similar system. This shall include a clear plan of repair to the hospital's internal system and proof that the Unit or any similar unit will not be present in summer 2012 and beyond.

4.) A plan and course of action concerning the above to be executed immediately.
