Abolish the use and sale of real fur in Canada

We deserve a more humane community. By community I do not just mean the one your place of residence resides in, but by the Country as a whole.

I am horrified at how cruel we humans can be all in the name of profit.

I do not expect that this state of mind we all play a part in, no matter how directly or indirectly, can be resolved in one generation. But if we simply stand on the argument that we as one person can not do anything about it, then the problem will certainly never be resolved.

I am sure we all have "things" we wish would change in our life so our life could be more enjoyable and easy, but just because the one problem you are asked to assist in does not seem as urgent as the problems you are currently frustrated over is no excuse to not help.

My request to you is to abolish the use or sale of real fur and to make the sale or use of real fur illegal in Canada. Punishable with fines and jail sentences. This would also include breeding of animals for their fur.


We can not be sure that what we are using was provided by in a morally correct manner, so allowing companies to utilized this industry runs us at great risk of supporting those who are open to such a cruel manner in business practices.

Unfortunately, there are those that seek profit by denying these poor animals the basic right to their survival. The right to live happy and healthy, and die with dignity and compassion. Which means we should not support the fur trade in any manner to show that we are agaisnt the idea that it is ok to treat an animal in such a cruel manner just because they can get away with it.

We hear lies about how those types of companies handle their livestock, and turn our heads at the ideas suggested to us on what they really do when seeking their profit margins. Yes, it is horrifying to even imagine what really goes on in those places, but its even more horrifying if we feel it's OK by simply not truly thinking about the animals conditions of living. We are no better then them if allow ourselves to assume that as long as all the animal is used, that this manner in which they do business is ok.

If all humankind were able to seek profit without inflicting cruelty towards the animals then we would not have to go to such extremes.

We are all guilty to some extent. We may not be the ones who are breeding, or skinning, or selling, but we do purchase products from this trade at some point or another.

Which means even if we did not mean to support their cruel actions, we are in fact doing just that by showing them there is a market for their means of doing business.

I think Canada should abolish the sale or use of all real fur products, to show the world that we do not support the fur trades manner in which they conduct business.
