reinstatement of the game Acrophobia. For many of us,
the game represents a significant part of our lives.
While we may not have the numbers that some other
games might have, many other games continue to run on
a significantly smaller number of players.
Additionally, we comprise a community that spends
large amounts of time with the game, with many players
literally scheduling their lives around it. We can
assure you, especially because of our recent exploits
looking for a comparable game on the web, that no such
game exists for people looking for the kind of humor,
mental stimulation, and community offered by
Acrophobia.
Although we recognize the fact that Acrophobia was
offered to us at no cost, we desire concrete and
honest information from Flipside regarding the status
of Acrophobia. We consider the original "Houston, we
have a problem" message to have been grossly
inadequate; communications from Flipside regarding the
removal and/or potential reinstatement of Acrophobia
have been equally lacking.
This lack of information has angered some of us as
much as the removal of the game. Regarding a boycott
of Flipside's gaming sites and sponsors, we are not
unified. Many of us, because of this anger, plan to
do exactly that. Another large segment of our
population considers the idea of boycotting Flipside's
website to be unnecessary, simply because the casino
and shoot-em-up style games now offered at Flipside
(as well as those games located on your sister
websites) are not well suited to our more creative,
intellectual, or social tastes.
In summary, we request the return of Acrophobia as
well as open, honest, and complete communications from
Flipside on this issue.
We further pledge to treat Flipside with the same
level of respect with which we are treated.
