Airsofters against the Total Ban of Replica Guns

We the undersigned oppose the ban of 'replica' fire arms but request the need for greater control over the sale of such items, rather than a total ban. We partake in a sport called Airsoft with requires the use of 'replica' fire arms. The sport controls itself through a series of tight self managed restrictions and guidelines. If all 'replica; fire arms are banned in the UK this would not prevent the manufacture of 'home' made replica fire arms thus making this suggested policy flawed. We would welcome the introduction of licenses as opposed to an out right ban, and stronger sentences for the misuse of 'replica' weapons. We hereby request that this subject be discussed with representatives from our sport prior to any Parliamentary decision being made.
